HATS OFF TO YOU!

Paid a visit to Prudence at her lovely little studio in central London. The hand-crafted hats displayed around the room were to die for. Seeing designs made for Vogue, Vivienne Westwood, Tom Ford, Sex in the City, and more, left me in awe. I could not believe my eyes! A lovely gifted woman, and a true artist of her work.

[UN]IQUE

United Nude is a shoe retailing company founded by Rem D. Koolhaas and Galahad Clark. The story of how this company came about was derived from the broken heart of Koolhaas. His concept was to downsize the architecture to its smallest and most vulnerable scale, that of a woman’s foot. He drew inspiration from the 'Möbius' shoe and took it a step further. Galahad Clark is the seventh dynasty of the Clark’s shoe making company. Together they created United Nude. The concept of United Nude sets it apart from the rest. It is designed in a specific way that is functional and unique. Aside from the brilliant use of colors, the architectural design in the heel is even more recognized for of its shape, form, and space. Additional to that, the displays that lay inside the shops contain shelves that are backlit with constantly color-changing lighting which draws attention into the store. From afar, the visual impact is certainly identifiable and is very luring to the eye. The idea of United Nude is nothing but a clever spectacle! Check ‘em out!

CAMDEN TOWN BABY!

It was sure a wet and wild day! My good friend Brooke and I took the bus down to Camden Town in the rain, where canopies were set up selling souvenirs and delicious food. Fruits and veggies laid outside with splashes of water from the pouring rain making it look more delicious than ever. There were mini shops that carried goodies and I could not help but be fascinated by these independent designers and their ability to create such beautiful jewelry and clothes. Everything was handmade including rings, cuffs, pendants, t-shirts, etc. After a quick browse, our noses followed the smell of the spices of a nearby Chinese cuisine stand which hit the spot. Camden was amazing. Regardless of the shower and our socks drenched in water, we manage to have the time of our lives!

"ENERGY, FUN, WISECRACKS GALORE!”

Fun filled day for my good friend Vanessa who is also studying with me here in Bloomsbury, London. Following the Graduate Fashion Show, we took the tube straight to the theatre to see Priscilla Oueen of the Desert. Not going to say much. You just have to see it for yourself. What a spectacle of glitz and glam! Loved it! Nothing better than ending the night with some Italian cuisine and a free Tiramisu birthday cake. I wish everyday was this extraordinary!

GRADUATE FASHION WEEK

(London Graduate Fashion Week 2011)

London's Graduate Fashion Week is an annual show sponsored by George Style. The show presented collections from graduate designers from universities all over London. Prior to the show, I visited booths which displayed collections from talented young designers and could not help but admire everything. The workmanship and detailed work put into their presentations was impeccable. Everything from look books to cinematography to garments were displayed in each artists' space to promote their work. I fell in love with the atmosphere and it left me more motivated than anything. I don't want to leave this place. It feels like home! I'm FEENING FOR FASHION!
